QUT bluebox Robot Rumble

QUT bluebox invites your school to be represented in the QUT bluebox Robot Rumble 2018

The QUT bluebox Robot Rumble is a one day hands-on workshop where kids and teachers will learn to understand robotics in the real world, develop programing and computation thinking and utilise their skills to go head-to-head in the final Robot Battle with other schools.

Teams of two (2) students and one (1) teacher have the opportunity to take part Robot Rumble. Students from grades 7-9, and they will tasked with programming actual robots to sense, plan, and act to enable robots.

Working in teams of two students will use programming blocks to build a program for the robot and bring it to life. They will be taught how create a program and how to transmit the program from the App/Programming software to the brain of the robot.

Numbers are limited to 10 teams (30 people in total including students and teachers)

Up to three teams can be nominated per school. Teams must be accompanied by at least one teacher but no more than one teachers per team (max three teachers).

Gavin Suddrey

Gavin is a highly skilled Software Engineer with exprience in both Robotics/Autonomation, and Game Development. Skilled in C/C++, Python, and Computer Vision. Gavin holds a Bachelor of Information Technology (Honours I) focused in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from Queensland University of Technology.

Steven Martin

Steve is an experienced Research Engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. Skilled in Mathematical Modeling, Python, Matlab, ROS, and Computer Vision. Steve has a strong engineering background with a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) & Doctor of Philosophy (PhD.) focused in Robotics from Queensland University of Technology.
