Creating Founders and Start-ups

Our aim is for QUT’s staff, students and alumni to realise the social and commercial impact of their research, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit.

We have a range of opportunities for QUT students, staff and alumni if you have a startup idea or want to find out more about entrepreneurship.

Entrepreneurship skills and knowledge are becoming more and more desired in the new economy.

QUT bluebox aims to build the next generation of founders in Australia.

Throughout the year we hold several initiatives to support new founders across all disciplines including:

  • Disrupt series – a series of ideation events for a range of disciplines (Disrupt Law, Disrupt Health, Disrupt Ed.) ran in conjunction with QUT Starters.
  • Ubercamps – a two day program available for the QUT community, focused on learning how to set, refine and pitch an idea, ran in conjunction with IFE.
  • QUT bluebox Innovation Challenge – an annual event for the QUT community to submit their idea, reach customers and potentially secure seed funding to fulfil their start-up idea.
  • QUT  bluebox accelerator – a biannual three month mentorship and education program for the QUT community to accelerate their start-up development.
  • Pre-accelerator program – a 4-6 week development program to help innovative ideas.

Additionally we provide space and mentorship out of the QUT foundry, a hub for founders at QUT.

There are also several seminars and opportunities throughout the year – sign up to our news blasts and view our events calendar.
