Our board of directors, including our CEO has defined roles and responsibilities within QUT bluebox. Our board is instrumental in assessing the business and overall direction and strategy supports the overreaching QUT strategy for innovation. As well as our CEO Our board includes:

Professor Peter Andrews – Chair

Professor Andrews served as Queensland's first Chief Scientist from 2003 to 2010. Before that, he led multidisciplinary scientific teams in several Australian universities and co-founded six biotechnology companies, two of which developed drugs for international markets. He is currently chairman of Implicit Bioscience and Vast Bioscience.

Professor Andrew is passionate about the need to encourage young Australians to found and build their own entrepreneurial enterprises. His book "Überpreneurs: how to create innovative global businesses and transform human societies", co-authored with social scientist Dr Fiona Wood, was published in 2014.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute, the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering, and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. In 2004 he was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia.

Dr Jen Harry – Non executive director

Dr Harry is the Chair of QUT Enterprise Holdings Pty Ltd and a non-Executive Director on the QUT bluebox and QUT Creative Enterprise Australia boards. She is also a non-Executive Director of Solvanix Pty Ltd, a start-up company from the Garvan Institute of Medical Research in Sydney, Australia.

Dr Harry brings experience in leadership, commercialisation strategy, risk assessment and mitigation, and high level stakeholder engagement.

She is an accomplished Managing Director of small listed and unlisted companies with experience in structuring effective organisations, strategic planning, business development, capital raising and commercialising technologies. She is currently CEO of Ondek Pty Ltd, a life science company that is using a natural occurring gut bacterium to develop novel therapies for allergy. Previously, Dr Harry was the Managing Director of ASX-listed Tyrian Diagnostics, where she led the transformation of the company from R&D to commercialisation of the company's first diagnostic product.

Dr Harry has a PhD in developmental biology, completed the General Manager Program at Harvard Business School in 2006 and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Professor John Humphrey – Director

Professor John Humphrey is Executive Dean of the Faculty of Law at QUT and is responsible for the development and leadership of the School of Law, the School of Justice and the Legal Practice Unit.

Prior to joining Queensland University of Technology in January 2013, Professor Humphrey was a Senior Partner at the leading law firm King & Wood Mallesons based in the Brisbane office where he specialised in corporate mergers and acquisitions and general commercial work. He was heavily involved in negotiating the successful merger of Mallesons Stephen Jaques with King & Wood a leading firm based in the People's Republic of China in 2012.

Professor Humphrey is a Director of a number of listed public companies and is a former member of the Australian Takeovers Panel.

Mr Stephen Denaro - Company secretary

Mr Denaro has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, business valuations, accountancy services, and income tax compliance gained from positions as Company Secretary and Chief Financial Officer of various public companies, and with major chartered accountancy firms in Australia and the United Kingdom.  He provides Company Secretarial services for a number of ASX listed and start-up technology companies.

Ms Lisa Siganto - Director

Ms Siganto brings a wealth of business experience. Ms Siganto has her own business supporting organisations and leaders to create social impact. Her experience is across both corporate and non-government organisations in a range of roles including chair, director, CEO, project manager and consultant. She has been a management consultant with McKinsey & Company, a partner at Deloitte and was the Qld director of Social Ventures Australia. Lisa has served on many corporate and not-for-profit Boards since the mid-1990s. She has been involved in assisting refugees and asylum seekers since 2007 and has an MBA from Harvard University and an engineering degree from The University of Queensland.

Mr John Beevers - Director

Mr Beevers has excellent international/ global experience, having lead a business/ team of more than 12,000 employees across 100 countries. He has worked across the globe, and lived in the UK, PNG, Singapore and Australia.

With a long career in industry (pre-dominantly mining and chemical), John has a depth of expertise and experience across a broad range of areas. He has climbed through the ranks and held leadership positions in several businesses and functional areas including; Business and Operations Management, Strategy Development, Marketing, Technology / R&D, Customer Relationship Management and Manufacturing.

Strongly focused on driving positive change for both people and the business, John has lead a number of culture change programs, from improving safety to whole of business turn-arounds.
