Company Accountant
Be part of a small dynamic team in a technology commercialisation company.
qutbluebox Pty Ltd (bluebox) is the knowledge transfer and commercialisation company of Queensland University of Technology. The company is responsible for commercially exploiting research outcomes developed at QUT and works with QUTs staff and students across all disciplines.
bluebox is seeking a highly motivated professional to manage the daily accounting and financial activities of the company , including accounts payable/receivable, general ledgers, monthly reconciliation, payroll and financial reporting.
To ensure that the company applies accounting policies that comply with relevant accounting standards and statutory requirements
- To maintain the companys accounting system
- To provide useful and timely management accounting information to facilitate the successful management of the company
- To initiate routine financial and cost control reports to management
- To provide other financial and accounting reports as needed, inclusive of Board requirements
- To collaborate with internal and external auditors as required for annual accounts and other purposes
- To manage the payroll process
This role will suit someone seeking part-time hours (approximately 15 hours per week) and a flexible working arrangement. The ability to prioritise and manage concurrent projects and activities is essential.
Requirements:
A Bachelor of Business (or similar discipline), majoring in Accounting with minimum 2-3 years experience
- Membership of CPA/ICAA
- MYOB accounting software systems experience preferred
- Experience in the use of computer software packages for word processing and document preparation, graphics, data storage and retrieval, spreadsheets, email, web/internet, and other administrative activities
- Ability to work autonomously
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
