bluebox home | Company profile | History
In 2006, the Queensland University of Technology formed QUT Innovations, with the fledgling commercial entity planting a seed that would blossom to become bluebox. Michael Finney, inaugural and current CEO, was appointed to lead the company during the formative period. Along with assembling an expert professional team, one of his first acts was to rebrand the company to become qutbluebox (‘bluebox’).
Based at QUT’s Margaret Street premises for the first two and half years of operations, bluebox relocated in June 2009, moving to the Synergy building on QUT’s Kelvin Grove campus to be co-located with the Division of Research and Commercialisation.
bluebox has worked to refine the company structure since inception, with the implementation of the Relationship Manager position within QUT’s Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation illustrative of the continual commitment to improve engagement opportunities between bluebox and the QUT community.
